While we *love* the summer, the hothothot days can be draining. My family can get a little cranky when the temps rise, so I'm all about keeping things super simple. Workouts are often long walks in the evening, with a bit of strength training and yoga/mat Pilates thrown in. And food is wayyy easy-breezy. Nothing fancy. I'm all about throwing together turkey or Tofurkey slices with a side of hummus, sliced carrots and celery, an assortment of berries, and calling it dinner. If you can get your hands on some sweet corn, boil up a few ears and add that to your healthy summer inside-picnic-esque meal.
One of my favorite salad recipes is this one from the Food Network -- fresh, tasty, and a snap to throw together.
Eating clean while keeping cool is like a slice of sweet, sweet summer.
