We are HUGE fans of gutting the clutter, lightening our loads, and donating or recycling the stuff we are ready to part with.
It's been incredibly cleansing.
One of the most fun aspects of sorting through our cr**, has been the long-forgotten gems we've found: namely, a slew of workout DVDs.
I know, I know. Many folks don't have DVD players or drives anymore ( I recently forked over about $30 for a CD/DVD drive for my Mac), but if you do, here are a few oldies but goodies in the fitness department:
Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred
Prepare to SWEAT. We're talking three 20-minute workouts featuring short bursts of cardio, strength moves, abs, and a cool-down. Brilliantly no-frills, and very easy to fit in once a day. Tough and very, very rewarding.
XTEND BARRE: LEAN & CHISELED
Ideal for working on lengthening your muscles and getting that awesome Pialtes high. XTEND BARRE was created by a professional dancer and Pilates instructor, and it incorporates some stellar cardio, so you'll be burning calories while working on nabbing a lovely, toned physique.
Ahhh, the memories. I jumped on the Callanetics bandwagon in the mid-90's, when I was living in Japan, and a fellow ESL teacher let me borrow her well-worn Callanetics VHS. I was immediately hooked. Yep, it's a bit dated, but it's extremely effective. At 60 minutes long, it's not as easy to fit in, so I like to break it up into two or three chunks at a time. The workout consists of tiny, precise exercises that tighten your core, arms, and legs, and improve your posture. All against the backdrop of some dreamy 70's music and retro leotards.
Who's with me?
Love and FIF,
