a) my daughter is starting *preschool* this week. (In the blink of an eye, she went from a hungry newborn to a snack-loving 2.9-year old!)
b) the countdown to winter is just around the corner. Eek. After last winter's epic storms, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we don't have to endure another snowmageddon. Those were some dark days -- brimming with too much chocolate and too little exercise.
c) the fresh produce we've enjoyed from our local CSA is downshifting into autumn. Oh, I'm as stoked as the next mom for pumpkins and other fall-tactic squash, but I will miss the lovely tomato bounty, glorious swiss chard, and seemingly eternal ears of sweet corn.
But it's not officially fall yet, so let's embrace the fruits and veggies of our "Labor". Today, I'll be hitting up some savory snacks poolside with my family. We've packed SkinnyPop Popcorn -- which packs a healthy punch of fiber, has zero gluten, and isn't super salty. I've also got a pint of strawberries, and
carrot sticks for mid-swim munching.
Tonight, the hubs will be firing up the BBQ for some grilled chicken, corn on the cob, and whatever other veggies I can throw on a skewer.
I'll post pics soon of da feast.
Enjoy the last goodies of summer, yawl!
Love and FIF,
