What usually works is running in place while she rides her trike around the basement. I can keep an eye on her, but I can still boost my heart rate in a relatively short period of time. I know I *should* wear sneakers, but I don't want to break her riding zen by running upstairs -- even for a minute -- I often make do with just my socks.
I run for as long as my toddler can play by herself. Usually, this amounts to about 10-20 minutes. Sometimes less, but usually not more. And while I love the simplicity of running in place, the hubs and I have been thinking of investing in a no-frills treadmill. I'm not sure this is the best idea with a little one running around, but a couple of New England transplants on the verge of winter can dream, right?
Love and FIF,
P.S. Any treadmill owners out there wanna suggest their favorite machines? Please comment below!
