Yup. The pic above is yours truly making the best of chilly temperatures on a family vacay to Minden, Nevada. The hubs coined the term "snoga" and I sort of love it.
Holiday vacations are a mixed bag. On the one hand, we are stoked to be spending time with family and friends, and on the other hand, it can mean our daily routines are thrown outa whack. This can be good, and not so good. Finding time for fitness can be super tough -- especially when the weather makes you want to dive under the covers.
One of my absolute must-haves is hand weights. You can pick them up (pun intended) at thrift stores, garage sales, and even at cheapo fun stores like Five Below (where everything, natch, is under $5). My in-laws have a light set, as does my mother, so when we visit, I'm set. After my snoga sesh (which was only about 15 minutes of yoga-ing in the white stuff), I was able to eke out about 24 minutes of strength training in the guest room, while the hubs got our daughter ready for bed. You don't need anything for the Happy, Healthy Total Body Boot Camp workout on Fitness Blender, and it really got my blood pumping. I did it twice -- using just my iPhone, 3-lb. hand weights, and a relatively quiet room.
Afterward, I felt incredible. It almost made up for the cartload of holiday cookies I inhaled pretty much every moment of the entire trip.
Lemme know -- did you make time for fitness on your holiday trips? Comment below and let me know!
