1) You can find them everywhere. When my toddler was an infant, I favored carrying her in an Ergo Wrap over a stroller (just a personal thing -- I loved having my arms free). I remember climbing stairs in our neighborhood, savoring the closeness of her tiny body, and loving the added body weight to give my step-taking an extra nudge.
2) If you have a two-story home, steps are invaluable during the winter. Last winter's snowfall here in Massachusetts was epic. I really depended on our steps to the basement for a quick cardio boost. A big plus? Carpeting, so I didn't worry about taking a tumble and risk waking up my little snoozer.
3) Steps kick your butt. Seriously. I love how my body feels after climbing up and down for as long as I can handle. Depending on how much time I have, I will run stairs for at least 10 minutes. Post stepping, I like to stretch it all out on said steps, in as big of a "stairs split" as I can manage. Oof!
Here's to a season of steppin'.
Love and FIF,
